Getting Bloggy

It's Edublog of the year season. I'll be keeping you posted about exemplars. For now, I'd like to suggest everyone reading this, and all the bloggers you know take action on 3 things I have noticed about award winning blogs:

Use widgets! Especially visitor statistics like clustr or flag counter. Don't be afraid to tinker with talking avatars like Voki. And explore Edublogs has some recommendations and you may find gems on you own at GoogleGadget.
Persist! It seems like award winning bloggers are born that way. But when you dig into their archives you get a sense of how they have grown into all the recommendations of - "have a purpose", "know your audiance", etc.
Get the word out! I'm noticing a trend in people posting to their blogs and then announcing via twitter, email or facebook that they have posted. It's a great start up strategy.

Seriously? This post is a reminder to me. Sometimes, I get into a rut and things like blogs lose steam. But, I can always start again. Especially with a new round of exemplars coming down the pipe.
